LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — On Friday, September 12, a vessel was found abandoned in gear on Lake Harris, leading to a response from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).
The discovery led to that evening’s search, which resulted in recovering the vessel’s deceased operator. The FWC stated, “FWC would like to extend condolences to the victim’s family during this difficult time.”
The authorities are currently investigating the incident and no additional details about the circumstances have been released at this time.
