One person died and another person was hurt Friday morning in a traffic crash along Goldenrod Road in Orange County.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — 9 a.m. update:

Troopers said the crash happened at Goldenrod Road and Silver Pointe Boulevard in Orlando.

FHP said the crash involved a 2011 Acura MDX that was traveling northbound on Goldenrod Road.

Investigators said initial evidence shows that the driver ran off the roadway at a curve and then struck a wall, causing the car to overturn.

FHP said the driver, 35, of Orlando, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries; his passenger, a 40 year-old Orlando man, was transported to AdventHealth East Orlando but did not survive.

The agency is reminding motorists that this stretch of Goldenrod Road remains closed for the crash, which remains under investigation.

A deadly crash has shut down a stretch of Goldenrod Road in Orange County.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. Friday north of Curry Ford Road.

Northbound lanes of Goldenrod Road are shut down in the area of the crash.

As of 7 a.m., only one southbound lane of Goldenrod Road remained open to motorists.

WFTV is near the crash scene, which involves and overturned vehicle near Orange County Fire Rescue Station 68.

The closure is impacting traffic between Curry Ford Road and Lake Underhill Road.
