Police noted during the third stabbing, the victim, a 73-year-old woman, appeared to be completely defenseless.

The suspect is then seen walking out of the hotel with the cash register under his arm.
According to police, the victim was taken to the hospital with stab wounds to the face and chest as well as eye trauma from multiple closed-fist punches, resulting in permanent disfigurement.
In an attempt to generate leads on the suspect’s identity, Orlando Detectives shared still pictures from the video to social media last week showing the suspect in the hotel lobby just before the attack.

According to police, a worker in the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Property and Evidence Division immediately recognized the suspect as 35-year-old Cordarryl Demby.
A manager at the OCSO evidence unit told investigators Demby had come into the office on the same day of the stabbing attempting to recover some property.
The manager said he remembered Demby based on the clothing he was wearing that day and recognized the unusual outfit in the pictures released by police.

Later, the victim also positively identified Demby from a photo lineup.
Demby was charged with felony attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Because of the victim’s age, he was also charged with aggravated battery on a person over 65.

He was only charged with petty theft for taking the cash register because the victim told police it only had approximately $200 in it at the time of the robbery.
