ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Pride were defeated 1-0 by Gotham FC in the NWSL semifinals at Inter & Co Stadium.

The loss means the Pride fell two wins short of repeating as NWSL champions, a feat that would have made them the third team in league history to win consecutive titles.

Orlando’s Mayor Dyer attended the match to support the Pride, the city’s first-ever championship team. The semifinal was a highly anticipated event, with single-game tickets available for fans eager to cheer on the team in their pursuit of another championship.

The defeat ends the Pride’s season as they miss out on finals to defend their title.
