PIERSON, Fla. — A fatal car accident took place last night around 7 p.m. in Volusia County, resulting in one person dying and the other driver being transported for treatment.
The accident occurred on State Road 11 near State Road 40 in Pierson, involving a 2020 Nissan Kicks and a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer.
The Nissan driver, an adult male whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was declared dead at the scene. The Silverado driver, a 46-year-old man from Palm Coast, was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Preliminary evidence suggests that the Nissan Kicks was heading south on State Road 11 before swerving into the northbound lane and colliding with the Chevy Silverado.
A witness stated that the Nissan’s front collided with the Silverado’s front, causing the deadly crash. Authorities previously set up a roadblock in both directions on State Road 11 while investigating the incident.
Authorities say they are still investigating why the Nissan veered into the northbound lane and the crash is still under investigation.
